Talking The Great Big Arena-Net Love Thread

Hi there everyone
I've not be a member of the GWG forum community for long but I am a regular contributer on many other forums.

There is often a lot of anger and hate against A-net for nerfs/updates they do and sadly people tend not to post on the good things (I hate to make that generalisation) because it's only the things that annoy them they want to rant about.

Today Neopets, which my sister plays avidly, released a large update that obviously took a large amount of time and effort and they have been working on for several months. But despite all the time the Neopet's team have put into it (it is a free game after all) they get almost no feedback but hate. "This is n00bish" "I hate the update".... you get the point. It seems if you peruse most online game forums these days many threads are dedicated soley to having a go at the company that the forum revolves around in the first place. It's a wonder people even bother to make games any more, the audience seemingly unpleasible.

But here we all are, playing Guild Wars as a community so we must love the game. Basically I intended this thread to be a huge, almost, present to A-net. Maybe when the researchers read this they'll get that warm fuzzy feeling inside , the one you get when someone says thankyou.
So, can everyone who loves GW post here and one word or phrase summing up the reason you're still playing GW!

Please don't turn this into one of those trolling, flaming matches where a thread with good intentions turns nasty.

Let the Love Begin!!!!

(and I apologize if that was a bit hippy . Also, I'm sry for any generalisations I made, I know many people feel the same as me)

Mazey

I still play GW (started in December 2005) for the mature (maturer than most, that is) community, the events, and the Amazing Plot. Oh, and because of the lack of a subscription fee.ANet is just plain awesome.

Now some ANet love:
I love ANet. They were made out of the brilliant minds of Blizzard (WC3 and its expansion FTW). They also, being a smaller company, still pay much attention to the community and put love into every update. The support is great, as are community relations. They just really listen to the players!

Almost two years of playing GW. Thanks for creating a game that didn't end up on a dusty old shelf after six months! Looking forward to GW2.

I'm still playing gw because I love to farm even though they nerf. I can still run a 55 spoil victor monk into sf on the fa quest and make 300k a day off galigord, rago and other sf bosses. weeee

I hope all neopets choke and die of the plague. =)

Almost two years and i'm still going strong in the GW world. I remain hooked. I never get tired of watching my character running across the beautiful landscapes and exploring the world.

Anet puts in a LOT of updates that we LOVE!! They are hard-working, dedicated, and actually listen to us!! This game is amazing and they keep making it even better. So even though I occassionally wine against a nerf -- I love GW and Anet. Keep up the awesome work!!!

I don't know why I love GW... but I do!

It's one of the few things I truly get excited about when I hear about something new (Like GWEN, or GW2, or Hard Mode!)

[Mordakai Cheers!]

I really enjoy the time and energy that i have put into GW and feel as if it is often rewarded by Anet.... although I can't say the same for my Wife she feels that Anet is a terrible company because the draw people in.

I still play GW because my warrior rules, and also because it doesn't follow usual MMO standards.

A-NET has blown me away with their products. The Quality, service & customer attention is beyond most companies their size & scope. Also, with the exception of perhaps the Silent Hill Art team, they have the highest artistic sensibilities. Amazing! I've yet to buy a game that I received this much value from.
Congrats!

Yes

aNet deserves a thank you for all the hard work and craftsmanship they put into this game. Why I play:

- Free to play
- Complex
- Atristic
- Humor laden
- Good community
- Community events (Christmas, etc.)

I've never played a different online game (not even one) as they never had a draw for me. I started during Christmas 1998 and it was quite a hoot to drop into that... it's been a wild ride.

Don't Nerf aNet!

I play GW for the amazing plot of course, but also the fact Anet puts so much into customer support - I mean they randomly turn up at player held events!

Also the fact you cast a friendly spells on yourself while trageting foes...Ive always wanted to thank them for that - GG anet

I was originally drawn to GW because of the lack of a monthly fee. I hate the idea of buying software, and then paying to actually use it. That is still a good chunk of why I play. I think the plot is alright, but most importantly, it offers one of the greatest Co-operative playing experiences I've seen in a long time. Usually I get to pla co-op with my brother once in a blue moon. While its great, it's rare. GW gives me access to this fun environment every day. Not to mention their purely outstanding customer service. I've never seen anything like it.
Thanks for one of the best games I've ever invested in, A-Net. You do a fantastic job.

I have played GW for 2 years now and stiil love the game. I play because it is the best game I have ever played and I have played many games since I started with Pong. I am glad to see the postive replies without the bad mouthing that usually shows up i these posts.

It is a really beautifully crafted world. With banners high, going to the guild hall makes me feel like I am a part of something. You can immerse yourself in the country and sightsee. I have to say that my favorites are the snowy landscapes of North Shiverpeaks.

Thanks!

I have been playing since May 2005. When I started dreaming with charr and other foes, I realized just HOW hooked I was

I paid them, they gave me a game... and events, and more content, and more items, and updates, and nerfs, and more content, and more events, and hats, and minipets, and titles, and and and... I know they didn't have to do that. They are amazingly talented and creative hard working people. Hats off to you ANET!!!

It's an amazing game, great story, fun, but what I love the most, is that I have met some amazing people that are now my friends for years to come.
